I am not a Catholic.
But I am a believer in common sense, decency and respect.
To that, I was extremely moved by the comments noted in The Seattle Times from a parishioner at St. James Cathedral. (“Death of Pope Francis brings Seattle Catholics to St. James Cathedral,” April 21, Local News)
After Pope Francis’ passing, a grieving Leticia Escobar was quoted as saying about the pontiff, “He just exemplified God’s love. Care for people. Treat them with respect, with love, with kindness. It’s a really great loss.”
Starting with Donald Trump, of those in supposed leadership positions, who else can you say that about today?
It’s really not about politics anymore.
