The recent editorial for helping homeless kids to celebrate their moms is sweet inspiration [“No gift is too small on Mother’s Day — for a homeless child,” Editorial, April 30]. Why not have a small gathering to make the gift bags — we love to get together with our friends anyway.
I plan to put a blank card in mine and some crayons so the child can make the card. My mom used to love that when I did create the card. While you’re filled with this inspiration, why not call your representative and senators and ask them to pass the Reach Every Mother and Child Act so we can end the preventable deaths of millions of mothers and children each year. Every mom deserves to celebrate Mother’s Day with her children.
