I nearly drowned in all the crocodile tears being shed by State Rep. Graham Hunt in “State Rep. Hunt resigns over military service furor” [Page One, Feb. 2]. He cited “inconsistencies” in his military service record.

Hunt has blamed the false Facebook post about him being in a mortar attack on a campaign volunteer he has refused to name. How monumentally convenient — Hunt passes the blame to some anonymous ghost who can’t be cross-examined.

Hunt also “claimed to have been shot in Iraq and stabbed in Afghanistan.” Now he can add to the list: “exposed in Washington state.”

Hunt also wants this state “to forgive me for my imperfections.” No, he’s not being “hounded” because of “imperfections” — he’s being forced to resign because he misrepresented his military service.
