Re: “City Council stays quiet on Chinatown ID, Delridge rail” [July 6, A1]:

The answer to where to site a new Chinatown International District light-rail station is staring everyone in the face, but nobody seems to want to talk about it.

Union Station between Fourth and Fifth Avenues on Jackson Street in Seattle is the perfect location, and is a beautiful piece of historic architecture to boot. Imagine bringing this landmark station back to life. Sure, it might not be simple or cheap, but every location has issues.

Take a stroll through the impressive, great hall of Union Station and use your imagination. Think about the end game. Wouldn’t it be grand to walk into Union Station again as a hub for light and regional rail?
