Donald Trump and his followers have become radicalized themselves by the incessant rhetoric aimed to delegitimize and destroy the presidency of Barack Obama [“GOP needs to stop Trump,” Opinion, Dec. 9].

Messages and tone of some of the most senior Republican leaders in Congress have given support to radical elements in their own party. The “chickens have finally come home to roost.” The Republican Party will need to clean out their own coop before they can reclaim what was once a respected place in American political dialogue.
