The Op-Ed by Reagan Dunn, vice chairman of the Metropolitan King County Council, is disingenuous at best and indicative of the Republican “No Taxes No Matter What” mentality.
No small business I am aware of has anything close to 250 to1,500 employees. Dunn argues that taxing businesses that pay high salaries to executives and other white-collar workers might possibly discourage their prospects for quality recruits. Yeah, right.
Yes, we are throwing a lot of money at the homeless, with seemingly little to no effect. But asking rich people to pay a greater share in order to maintain our city’s treasured livability is not an unreasonable request.
