Jerry Large’s column “Are we a nation of immigrants?”  really hit home with me since my three children and I (all of us adopted) received our DNA test results this past week.

We marveled that only in this moment in time and space would we, with such diverse backgrounds, become a family. And, even within our diversity, there was crossover between our genetic ancestors, proving once again that we are all part of a vast human family.

Thanks to Large for pointing out that it has always been greed that fuels exclusion and separation of certain groups of people. My hope is that we, as Americans, can reclaim and celebrate diversity as our greatest strength.
