Throughout our history, young people have pushed this country forward, challenging the assumptions of the past with energy and idealism. That’s why we should be grateful to Bernie Sanders and his supporters for their battle for social justice and against income inequality [“Millennial voters shift to the left,” Page One, April 26].
These ideas are now part of the national conversation in ways that would have been unimaginable a few decades ago. Although Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee for president, we need the enthusiasm and ideas of everyone who supported Sanders to continue moving this country forward. We cannot simply walk away, or give in to despair. There is still too much work to be done.
