There are now 20 candidates officially running to win the Democratic presidential nomination with a couple more waiting in the wings. The contingent of would-be presidents is the most diverse ever.

It included one man who would be the youngest commander-in-chief ever elected (and the first to be openly gay), two men who would be the oldest ever elected to a first term and six women, including one who is Afro-Indian-American. Throw in a black guy, a Latino guy and a Chinese-American guy and it’s quite a mix. Plus, there is the first serious candidate hailing from Bainbridge Island.
