A former Washington state Senate aide now working as director of government and public affairs for the Snohomish County-Camano Association of Realtors, McIrvin is no stranger to politics. He demonstrates an earnest, thoughtful temperament that would help strengthen Renton’s response to challenges, such as revitalizing its downtown core, improving transportation and transit service, and urban planning.
McIrvin currently lives in the Cascade neighborhood and serves as vice chair of the City of Renton Human Services Advisory Committee. He offers thoughtful solutions for complex issues, ranging from ending homelessness to producing a livable city with more affordable housing.
Opponent Monique Taylor-Swan is a home-care provider and SEIU 775 at-large executive board member. Recently named to Renton’s Inclusion Task Force, she can build her civic résumé and run again in the future.
McIrvin brings the ability to hit the ground running on everyday city matters.
