The pipeline expansion would increase Canadian oil tanker traffic in the Salish Sea thus significantly increasing the risk of oil spills.
The Canadian government is moving ahead with the Trans Mountain Pipeline which, when completed, would put 350 more tankers on the Salish Sea filled with some of the dirtiest oil in the world. At risk are not just the region’s Orcas and other sea life, but the pristine San Juan Islands and Puget Sound itself.
