IN THE NEWS: Right-wing tech bros have grown fond of the idea that American democracy should be replaced with a system run by an all-powerful CEO — a king. Their thinking is that government can be run more efficiently and effectively with one person in charge.
With the current president, they seem to be getting their wish, except this CEO has an ignorant and destructive belief in the power of tariffs. And the problem with a king is that no one can stop him from doing dumb and dangerous things.
