BALLARD — Visitors can walk through a completed 757-square-foot one-bedroom-plus-den model home with finishes at Vik Ballard Condominiums, where move-ins begin in less than 90 days.
“This makes it easy for buyers to experience the rooms and visualize furnishings in advance while preparing for early 2016 moves,” says Erik Mehr of Erik Mehr and Associates, who is handling the community’s home sales.
The model home at Vik Ballard Condominiums includes custom wood cabinetry in the kitchens and baths, slab quartz stone countertops with waterfall edges, stainless steel appliances, undermount sinks, designer faucets, wine/beverage coolers and nearly 9-foot ceilings.
Flex storage spaces are available in most homes, including customizable closet systems. USB charging ports are also among the standard features.

A variety of junior-one-bedroom, one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den and two-bedroom homes are still available.
Construction is nearly complete at the community, located at the corner of 20th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 56th Street, a block from Northwest Market Street. More than 75 percent of the planned 117 homes have been sold.
“Vik’s central Ballard location offers a distinct sense of community within the city,” Mehr says. “Ballard’s pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to connect with friends and neighbors. Restaurants, coffee shops, taverns, clubs with music, bus stops, movie theaters, grocery stores and specialty shops are all within an easy walk from Vik.”
Homeowners will have access to bike storage and a repair area, as well as gated underground parking with optional extra storage. “Since Ballard’s popularity has grown as a destination for eating out and entertainment, being able to count on a reserved parking space at Vik will be a plus for owners,” Mehr says.
Residents can take in Ballard and Ship Canal views from a rooftop entertainment patio above the sixth floor. The space includes a fire pit, grill, lounge chairs and an area for dogs.
An entry lobby welcomes residents and guests with two casual seating areas and a full-time concierge. There’s also a fitness center with cardio equipment and FreeMotion machine.
“With rents rising, especially in desirable urban neighborhoods like Ballard, buying a home can stabilize living expenses, especially when purchasing brand-new construction,” Mehr says. “When everything is new from top to bottom, maintenance costs are low and predictable. Through Vik’s preferred lender, it’s easy to lock in at a low interest rate.
“Even without the inevitable annual or more frequent increases, spending up to $2,000 per month on an apartment in Ballard is common — that’s $120,000 over five years,” he says. “At a comparable monthly cost to renting, you can buy your own place, enjoy some tax breaks and build equity at Vik Ballard Condominiums.”
