Gear to help your office dog be happy and comfy so you can focus on your work.

Every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day at many Seattle workplaces. At firms such as Amazon, Trupanion and Rover, there can seem to be almost as many pups as people.

If you bring your pooch to the office, help them put their best paw forward by stocking what they need so you can focus on your job. This list of going-to-work gear for dogs will keep both of you comfortable and aid in a smooth home-to-work transition.

And if you don’t bring your pooch to the office, you can still put these ideas to work for stress-free weekend jaunts and road trips.

Office space

Every dog needs a place to call their own. The Petmaker Roll Up Travel Portable Dog Bed ($15 at target.com) provides a spot to curl up, with a washable faux-fur side and a canvas backer. The memory-foam baffles keep it well-padded, and the whole thing rolls up for easy transport.

If a crate is a better option, opt for the strong-yet-lightweight Midwest Canine Camper Sportable Crate (starting at $83 at Mud Bay and midwestpetproducts.com). The soft-sided pop-up crate collapses and has a handle for easy transport. Mesh doors and windows provide ventilation, and a cozy faux-sheepskin pad is included.

Lunch break

Dexas’ Popware for Pets Collapsible Double Elevated Pet Feeder ($20–$26 at Next to Nature and store.dexas.com) makes lunchtime easy. The feeder flattens for transport, then pops up to reveal two elevated, removable bowls. The whole set can go in the dishwasher.

If you have a sloppy eater, check out the Messy Mutts Silicone Feeder ($15–$30 at Mud Bay and messymutts.ca), with a nonslip base to keep the bowl in place, and a wide lip with raised edges to catch crumbs or contain spilled water.

You have your office water bottle; shouldn’t they have their own, as well? Turn the stainless-steel Dog Is Good Dog Water Bottle ($16–$17 at Next to Nature and dogisgood.com) upside down and water releases when your pet licks the roller ball.

Head out for your noontime walk with Dolan’s Dog Doodads Wonder Walker Body Halter ($26–$30 at All the Best Pet Care), which discourages pulling, jumping and lunging. The unique halter, designed and made in Seattle, guides from the chest, rather than the head or neck, and works with their instinctive reflex to move toward pressure.

 Keep it clean

Respect your workplace by minimizing messes. Nature’s Miracle Pet Stain and Odor Remover ($10–$13 at Petsmart) uses natural enzymes to remove stains and neutralize odors.

Winter is coming, along with lots of mud. Dexas’ MudBuster ($20–$26 at Mud Bay and store.dexas.com) acts as a self-contained, portable paw washer. Just add water, insert a paw and rotate the cup. Soft silicone bristles clear the dirt and grime away.

No bath? No problem. Earthbath All Natural Grooming Wipes ($11 at amazon.com) replace wet-dog smell with a subtle green-tea-leaf fragrance.

Even with a lap dog, you can look polished at a moment’s notice with a Scotch Lint Roller ($4 at Target). The refillable lint catcher removes hairs in a jiff, so you’re never late for a meeting.

Make potty breaks more pleasant with the Kong HandiPod Bag Dispenser and Hand Sanitizer ($9 at Petco). Clip the roll of pickup bags onto your belt loop and employ the included hand sanitizer to stave off germs until you can get back to a restroom.

Enhance playtime

Keep your pooch busy, happy and quiet all day with some well-chosen toys.

Puzzle toys are recommended by animal-behavior specialists to stimulate your pet’s mind. Starmark’s Treat Dispensing Football ($10–$17 at Mud Bay and starmarkbehavior.myshopify.com) does just that, providing a fun challenge to release the treats you put inside.

Save everyone’s sanity with Hear Doggy’s Ultrasonic Silent Squeaker Dog Toys (starting at $5.35 at amazon.com), soft chew toys that include a squeaker that’s inaudible to humans, so your dog can chew away without disturbing your conference call.

And when you need to break out the big guns, Bully Sticks ($1.35 and up at Next to Nature and chewy.com) are 100 percent beef, fully digestible and practically guaranteed to keep them occupied during your big meeting.
