ANACORTES — The first of San Juan Passage’s Winter Holiday Receptions takes place Dec. 2–3 at its Water’s Edge neighborhood. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, visitors can enjoy seasonal goodies and a cup of hot mulled cider or cocoa, and tour the community’s newest homes.

“While you’re here, take in the spectacular, view-swept setting and award-winning home plans that marry coastal charm with ship-tight design sensibilities,” says Sandi Davidson, the sales director at San Juan Passage. “On weekends through the new year, visitors can explore the community, tour our model homes adorned for the holidays, then grab a warm beverage and head for the beach.”

Four parks have been integrated into the neighborhood, along with a homeowner pavilion area with a pickleball court and a stone fire pit. Access to the beach is an easy walk via the community’s Overlook Trail. It also connects to the Guemes Channel Trail, which follows the shoreline for approximately 1.5 miles toward downtown Anacortes.

Winter Holiday Receptions will feature tours of Water’s Edge’s newly completed model homes. The homes feature a mix of new floor plans and some of the most popular designs by the developer, Gilbane Development Company.

Homes offer views of the San Juan Islands, and the nearby beach is accessible via the community’s Overlook Trail.

Among the home designs available to tour is the Pender, which Davidson describes as “the epitome of classic, coastal architecture.”

“It is designed to capture a special blend of Nantucket charm and Northwest style, and to take advantage of this spectacular marine setting,” she says. “Since its original design, the Pender homes built have sold before completion, so this is the first time this floor plan has been available for tours.”
