MOUNT VERNON — Home construction continues at Woodside, a community designed for active adults age 55 and older.
The builder, Landed Gentry Homes and Communities, is unveiling a new furnished model home this weekend. It will showcase many features of Woodside’s stand-alone homes, including single-level living and open layouts. Prices start in the low $300,000s.
Woodside’s homes range in size from 1,392 to 2,256 square feet and include up to three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a finished two-car garage. Most of the homes feature single-level designs, with individual yard maintenance covered by the homeowners’ association. A private community lodge and park are scheduled to be built this year.
“We listened to our clients in recent years who were seeking thoughtfully designed homes with smaller spaces for their next home,” says Brian Gentry, the president of Landed Gentry Homes and Communities. “Woodside expands what we can offer both in size and price range.”
He says Woodside’s newest fully furnished model home, the Madrona, has been thoughtfully designed to help make living easier. The 1,846-square-foot single-level home is on a corner lot and includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den/office.
The Madrona floor plan features a great room layout with a kitchen that opens to the living and dining rooms. French doors lead to the light-filled den, which is centrally located near the main living area.
White cabinetry and millwork combine with weathered-grey hardwood flooring and light-colored granite countertops to create a cozy and inviting space.
The furnished Juniper Loft model home is also available to tour this weekend.
“Each home is built with the buyer’s quality of life in mind,” Gentry says. “Most homes are single-level, and each one features comfortable, easy-care finishes, with open layouts.
“A select number of homesites back up to protected woodland areas, creating a private and uniquely Northwest feel. All homes have full landscaping that compliments the area, and is professionally maintained so residents can spend their time doing things they enjoy.”
Nestled in the Skagit Valley, Woodside is located near opportunities for hiking the North Cascades, visiting state and local parks, and fishing in the Skagit River.
The area also features a vibrant arts scene, with local exhibits, arts museums and performances staged at McIntyre Hall and other venues.
