YAKIMA — It’s true what they say: You can’t buy time.
With a home in Quail Run at Terrace Heights, however, you can make the most of it.
Located in the hills above the Yakima Valley, the gated community of 117 homesites caters to active adults age 55 or older who want retirement — and even pre-retirement — on their own terms, says Quail Run sales manager Phil Signor.
“The Puget Sound region’s frenzied housing market presents a rare opportunity to use equity from the sale of your current home to purchase at Quail Run and keep the balance to invest,” he says. “For some, buying at Quail Run might even provide the flexibility to purchase a vacation home, or just have a nice nest egg in the bank. There are just so many choices.”
Prospective homeowners can learn more about the options at Quail Run and tour model homes during a community barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. on June 11. Visitors are asked to RSVP by calling 877-469-2992 or sending an email to email@example.com.
Quail Run has four move-in-ready model homes for sale. Each of the homes includes upgrades such as high-end appliances, two-car finished garages, heat pumps, covered patios and rear-yard fencing.
Quail Run’s five home designs range in size from 1,200 to 2,142 square feet and include two or three bedrooms and two baths.
Yards are landscaped for minimal maintenance and include sprinkler systems and vinyl fencing. Signor says larger sites with views of the Yakima Valley, Union Gap, Mount Adams and Mount Rainier are available for new homes.
With less time spent stuck in Seattle-area traffic, Signor says, there are more opportunities to enjoy the recreation and leisure of Quail Run’s Yakima Valley location.
“Yakima offers four full seasons of stunning natural beauty,” he says. “Autumn, in particular, is a favorite time of year for many residents. With over 300 days of sun, you quickly see why they call Yakima the ‘Palm Springs of Washington.’
“Golf, water sports, ski slopes, bike paths and dozens of award-winning wineries, distilleries, and breweries are just minutes from your door. There’s no other place in the state where you can stomp grapes at a gorgeous vineyard or have fun at a local casino, and still be just minutes from world-class healthcare, Alaska Airlines flights and shopping at Costco.”
Quail Run purchases don’t include the land, but do include a turn-key, customizable home; multicar garage; fencing; and low-maintenance landscaping with irrigation.
“This presents the homebuyer with significant savings — typical vacant lots in comparable developments sell for $60,000 or more,” Signor says.
A monthly owner’s fee covers common-area maintenance, on-site management, and use of the community clubhouse, pool and hot tub. The clubhouse serves as the center of the community’s social scene, where residents can enjoy billiards, a library and card room, and an entertainment space near a full kitchen. Mountain views frame the pool and hot tub area.
The community is owned by Quail Run at Terrace Heights LLC, and operated by Lakeshore Communities LLC, a third-generation family company.
