The largely flat 2.5- to 11-acre wooded homesites at The Estates at Sugarloaf Mountain in Ravensdale allow for detached garages and workshops, sport courts or accessory dwelling units.
RAVENSDALE — The Estates at Sugarloaf Mountain offers customers a unique buying proposition: acreage estate lots in a gated community that is less than a 10-minute drive from shopping, schools and health services.
Even more unique, according to Bill McCaffrey, the project manager for Garrette Custom Homes at Sugarloaf Mountain, may be the community’s largely flat 2.5- to 11-acre wooded homesites. The space allows for detached garages and workshops, sport courts or accessory dwelling units.
Fifty-three of the original 68 lots sold in less than a year; the final phase, with 25 new 3- to 5-acre lots, opened for sale last month, McCaffrey says. The lots feature a secure entry, public water, high-speed cable and phone service, and underground power.
Garrette Custom Homes was attracted to The Estates at Sugarloaf Mountain by the opportunity to build large homes with rambler floor plans “that shifting demographics are making so desirable,” McCaffrey says.
There is a fully staged model home featuring the builder’s 3,452-square-foot Cascade rambler design. It includes a den, master bedroom and two additional bedrooms on the main level, as well as an en suite bedroom/bonus room on the second floor.
On March 6, Garrette Custom Homes will host a Homebuilding 101 seminar for those who are interested in building a custom home. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to noon in the model home.
A second model featuring the 3,206-square-foot Aspen plan with daylight basement is under construction, and there are several more available presale ramblers.
“The new-home market is evolving, with ever more homeowners returning to the livability and comfort of single-level and master-on-main floor plans,” McCaffrey says.
The Estates at Sugarloaf Mountain is located off Kent-Kangley Road in Ravensdale, near Maple Valley, and is served by the Tahoma School District.
