COVINGTON — Located minutes from Highway 18, Maple Hills is hosting its grand-opening celebration Aug. 6–7. The model home and three additional single-level homes are available to tour from noon to 5 p.m., and gourmet pizza, hot dogs and refreshments will be served both days.
Developed by Kirkland-based master-planned developer Oakpointe Communities, Maple Hills features tree-lined boulevard streets and four neighborhood parks.
Garrette Custom Homes is building on a 20-lot enclave within Maple Hills that is bound on three sides by protected greenspace. The homesites face one of the parks.
According to Bill McCaffrey, the project manager, the unique purchasing proposition lies in the large rambler plans that are available.
“These large homesites were ‘grandfathered’ in under an old zoning code,” he says. “Several lots exceed a quarter-acre, which is a real rarity for new home developments in the urbanized Puget Sound region.”
Several of the single-level designs at Maple Hills are 70 feet wide and include up to 3,756 square feet of open living space and up to 12-foot ceilings.
The model home features the builder’s three-bedroom 3,097-square-foot Aspen floor plan. It includes a nearly-700-square-foot owner’s suite, great room with adjacent kitchen, three bathrooms, a den and a formal dining room.
Other available models have three bedrooms on the main level. All homesites are large enough for three-car garages.
Maple Hills is located north of Kent-Kangley Road at 204th Avenue Southeast.
McCaffrey says Garrette Custom Homes was attracted to Maple Hills by the opportunity to build large homes with rambler floor plans “that shifting demographics are making so desirable.”
“The new-home market is evolving, with ever more homeowners returning to the livability and comfort of single-level and master-on-main-floor plans,” McCaffrey says.
Outdoor living is also showcased at Maple Hills. The model home has a covered patio and extended hardscape area for eating and entertaining.
The weekend following the grand opening, Garrette Custom Homes will host a Homebuilding 101 seminar at its model home at Maple Hills for those who are interested in having a custom home built. Email McCaffrey at firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
