Owner: Jay Smith, Snohomish

Occupation: Retired

Car’s make and model: 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe

“I love my car because … it’s a real survivor with a documented history, unique and different. After eight years, the original owner updated his vehicle with a new Chevy pickup, placing the Bel Air in storage, where it remained for 43 years. I took possession of it after his estate sale. I have been the second owner since February 2012. It’s completely original except for some maintenance items and a repaint. The car has a little over 47,000 original miles on it and is rather rare, as most hardtops were Chevy Impalas. Like most kids, I could never afford a car like this when I was growing up. I’ll make up for it now.”
