A worker was critically injured after falling from a barge docked at a warehouse along Salmon Bay on Saturday, according to the Seattle Fire Department, which used ropes to rescue the man.
The man fell about 15 feet from the barge to a walkway level with the shoreline around noon, according to the Fire Department. SFD did not specify which warehouse, but the incident was reported in the 400 block of Northwest Bowdoin Place in the Fremont area.
Crews used a boat and a stokes basket, a stretcher attached to ropes, to rescue the man before taking him to Harborview Medical Center. He was in critical condition at the time of the rescue, fire officials said.
