TACOMA — Clay Hensley pitched seven solid innings as the Portland Beavers beat the Tacoma Rainiers 8-4 last night in a Pacific Coast League baseball game at Cheney Stadium.


Hensley (2-2) allowed two runs and four hits. Brad Baker got two outs in the ninth for his 27th save.


Cha Seung Baek (7-4) was the loser, yielding five runs in 2-2/3 innings.


Adam Hyzdu, Bobby Scales and Wilson Valdez each hit solo home runs for the Beavers (46-46), who had 12 hits.


Tacoma (50-41) got two hits each from Ramon Santiago and Yuniesky Betancourt, and Clint Nageotte was impressive in two scoreless innings of relief.
