A 61-year old man died after colliding with a wooden guardrail while traveling westbound on state route 410 in his motorcycle, Washington State Patrol said late Sunday.

The state patrol said the motorcyclist suffered “a medical emergency” and veered across the eastbound lanes striking the guardrail.

The incident took place in Pierce County. The man’s name was not disclosed by the authorities as next of kin hadn’t been notified at the time of the report. He was wearing a helmet, the state patrol said.
