MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is reminding ice anglers across the state that all fishing shanties have to be removed from lakes and ponds where they were used this winter before the ice weakens or the last Sunday in March.
The name and address of the owner must be on all ice shanties.
All contents of the shanty, debris, wood, and supports must also be removed.
The fine for leaving a fishing shanty on the ice can be $1,000.
