VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) — Student films, a Southern gothic thriller and a feature-length documentary about giant rodents will be hitting the screen at the South Georgia Film Festival.
The three-day festival that opens March 2 and is being hosted by Valdosta State University.
The Valdosta Daily Times reports screenings include Brantly Jackson Watts’s “Birthday Cake,” a thriller about modern domestic violence. The documentary “Rodents of Unusual Size” looks at the infestation of beaver-like rodents called nutria along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Films by regional high school and college students will also be shown.
Panels discussions are scheduled to feature composer Mark Anthony Chubb, comedians and filmmakers Fray Forde and Catherine Dee Holly and Macon Film Commissioner Terrell Sandefur.
