NEW YORK (AP) — A large postal building in New York City bearing the famous saying about overcoming snow, rain, heat and “gloom of night” has been the scene of an ongoing challenge that has nothing to do with nature.
Customers at Manhattan’s main post office have been going old-school because of an internet outage.
Spokeswoman Connie Chirichello (chihr-ih-CHEHL’-oh) says a cable was damaged on Sunday. The repairs were still underway Wednesday.
Customers are still able to buy stamps with cash. Postal workers helped customers weigh packages so the correct amount of postage could be used.
