HOUSTON (AP) — Houston police say a man described as shooting at a club has been shot and killed by a security guard.

Authorities say the surveillance video shows the gunman outside the north Houston club early Sunday with a gun in his hand. Investigators say the security guard was acting in self-defense and protecting the club’s customers.

Police say the shooting appears to have started with an argument inside the club. A man went out to his car, got a gun, walked back toward the building and began firing. The security guard returned fire and hit him.

The name of the man killed hasn’t been immediately released. No one else has been hurt.
