OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine (AP) — A teenager accused of setting portable toilets on fire in Maine has been taken into custody.

Police say they believe 18-year-old Ellis Hemenway turned himself in Monday at the Auburn Police Department because of media coverage that included surveillance video.

Hemenway is charged with felony arson.

Two portable potties were destroyed in the fire in Old Orchard Beach on Friday, and police were seeking a white man with a shaved head who was seen fleeing.

Police say Hemenway is a transient who grew up in neighboring Saco. A message left at Hemenway’s former address hasn’t been returned. It’s unclear if Hemenway has a lawyer.
