PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been acquitted of sexually assaulting a young boy more than a decade ago.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that 39-year-old Eric Daigle, of Pittsfield, was found not guilty this week of 10 counts of forcible child rape and three counts of indecent assault and battery.

Prosecutors say Daigle, a trusted adult in the child’s life, exposed the boy to pornography, assaulted him on multiple occasions, and forced the boy to perform sex acts. The allegations dated to 2007 and 2008.

Daigle’s attorney told jurors that the now 21-year-old accuser had given inconsistent statements and may have had a motive to fabricate the allegations. The defense also noted there was no physical evidence to support the allegations.
