ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A University of Central Florida discipline panel says a fraternity that was suspended over a member’s videotaped offensive remarks about rape did not violate university policy.
Thursday’s ruling still requires staff approval, and the fraternity will remain suspended until the final decision.
According to an incident report filed with the school, a woman filmed a video that captured a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity chanting “Rape! Rape!” and other offensive remarks on June 9 on one of the fraternity’s off-campus apartments.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://goo.gl/ZF3P6G) reports the woman gave the video to a UCF student, who gave it to the school.

The panel said it found insufficient evidence to suggest the fraternity was responsible for the individual’s comment. He is no longer a student at UCF.
