ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (AP) — Authorities say several cars of a CSX train derailed in southeastern Virginia without apparent injuries, leaks or spills.

CSX spokeswoman Laura Phelps said in an email that five well cars carrying 11 shipping containers derailed Tuesday morning outside the International Paper mill near Franklin. She says the train was traveling from North Baltimore, Ohio, to Portsmouth, Virginia.

Phelps says the shipping containers were filled with things like furniture parts, synthetic rubber and metal. She says none of the derailed cars contained hazardous material.

Phelps says authorities are working to realign derailed cars and clear intersections blocked by the derailment.
