PITTSBURG, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say officers came to the rescue of a snowmobiling party that became lost in subzero temperatures in northern Pittsburg.

Officials say parents and a 10-year-old child from Rockland, Massachusetts, didn’t have a trail map and were low on fuel when they called 911 Saturday night.

Conservation Officer Chris Egan and Pittsburg Police Chief John Leblanc rode snowmobiles to the GPS coordinates and helped to get the group to safety.

The air temperature at the conclusion of the rescue was 18 below. Officials say the group was cold, but unharmed, from the ordeal.
