CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Gov. Jim Justice has appointed a circuit judge to replace a longtime judge who retired.

Justice’s office said in a news release that the governor appointed R. Steven Redding of Berkeley County on Thursday.

Redding, of Martinsburg, will serve as judge of the 23rd Judicial Circuit.

Redding will replace Judge Gray Silver III, who served for 17 years.

The 23rd Judicial Circuit includes Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties.
