CLARKSVILLE, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Fish and Game officers say they helped rescue two snowmobilers stranded in the North Country town of Clarksville after one machine broke down and the other ran out of fuel.

Officers were notified of a 911 call at approximately 8:25 p.m. Saturday reporting that the two men had left their snowmobiles and had been walking for a significant period.

Officers responded on snowmobiles to the area of Whipple Ridge. The two men were located at about 10:15. They had returned to the area after being given rides and spare fuel from two unrelated snowmobilers.

Officers led the men back to fuel pumps in Pittsburg, where they were staying at a private camp. The men plan to return to the area Sunday to retrieve the disabled snowmobile.
