DALLAS, S.D. (AP) — The trial for a Hamill man accused of killing his former girlfriend in Gregory County has been moved to a new venue.
Chance Harruff has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges in the death last June of 38-year-old Kristi Olson following an argument at her home in the town of Dallas.
He was scheduled for trial in May. The Daily Republic reports that a pre-trial survey of more than 200 potential jurors showed significant bias toward Harruff, so the trial is being moved to Fort Pierre.
