SALEM, Ore. (AP) — An Illinois man who authorities say was involved in a robbery of a Salem home where a man was fatally shot has pleaded guilty.
The Statesman Journal reports 22-year-old Eloy Carrera pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder with a firearm, two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
Authorities say Carrera and an accomplice killed 44-year-old Brett White after entering his home and demanding marijuana in August 2016.
Marion County prosecutors reached a plea deal with Carrera where they agreed to drop seven other charges against him in exchange for the guilty pleas.
