BOSTON (AP) — A taxi driver who witnessed a hit-and-run crash in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston has come forward and given a description of a potential suspect.

Massachusetts State Police say the man witnessed the crash that killed 40-year-old Pierre Desir of Boston early Saturday.

Police say they are now searching for a four-door sedan, dark in color, with front-end damage that includes a missing headlight. They say the car might be a Honda Accord.

Desir was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle that struck him did not stop.

Desir was the father of five children. His mother, Adrienne Desir, is calling on the driver to come forward, saying, “I want to know what happened.”

The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing by the state police detective unit.
