SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — A 63-year-old man has been sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for strangling his wife in her Syracuse apartment more than 30 years ago.
Ronald Meadow pleaded his innocence for more than three decades before pleading guilty to manslaughter in January for killing 27-year-old Colleen Meadow. His first conviction in 2014 was overturned on appeal.
At sentencing Friday in Onondaga County Court, Meadow told the victim’s family he took full responsibility and was sorry.
Colleen Meadow was found hog-tied and strangled in her apartment in March 1985. The case went unsolved until DNA tests implicated her husband in 2013, after he had moved to Georgia.
