LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fiery big-rig crash spilled shredded cheese all over the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles and blocked that side of the major route for hours Friday.
The truck hit a guardrail and bridge support around 3:41 a.m. and burst into flames.
The Los Angeles Fire Department says the driver was taken to a hospital but was in good condition.
Traffic was diverted until Caltrans crews inspected the bridge and cleared the wreckage, spilled diesel fuel and the cheese.
The last lane closures were lifted about eight hours after the wreck.
