COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s former Democratic Party chairman is again reaching across the aisle.

Jaime Harrison tells The Associated Press he and former GOP staffer Amos Snead are writing a book on what it takes to build a Capitol Hill career.

Harrison says “Climbing the Hill: How to Build a Career in Government and Make a Difference” is being published by Ten Speed Press/Penguin Random House, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group.

Harrison is writing the book with Amos Snead, founding member of S-3 Public Affairs and spokesman for former House Republican Whip Roy Blunt.

Harrison directed floor operations for former House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and is now Democratic National Committee counselor.

Harrison and South Carolina GOP counterpart Matt Moore are friends and appeared together frequently during the 2016 campaign.
