FARMINGTON, Mo. (AP) — A 29-year-old man shot by police in the eastern Missouri town of Farmington is now facing multiple charges.
The Park Hills Daily Journal reports that Cody Crayton of Park Hills is charged with assault, armed criminal action, burglary and other crimes. He is jailed on $500,000 bond and does not yet have an attorney.
Police responded to a burglary report around 4 a.m. Sunday. Officers ordered a suspect to come out of the home’s basement, but then heard several shots.
Officers left the house. Police say Crayton was shot when he came through the front door holding a rifle.

Crayton suffered a graze wound on his right side. He was treated at a hospital before being released to the jail.
