BERLIN, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife wants to hear from people who are fishing on a pond also used as a water source for Montpelier.

It’s been six years since a Vermont Supreme Court ruling opened Berlin Pond for fishing. Vermont Public Radio reports fishers are invited to share their experiences with the department at a public discussion on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fish and Wildlife Annex building in Berlin.

Biologist Bret Ladago says the department wants to present fishers with the latest data and get feedback, saying there are currently stricter limits on catchable fish because of the discovery of unusually big and old fishes.

The limits have been extended a few times and expire at the end of this year.
