WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A Black Hawk County jury has acquitted a second defendant accused of shooting to death a Waterloo man in 2016.

On Tuesday the jury found 18-year-old Armand Rollins Jr. not guilty of murder and attempted murder charges stemming from the July 17, 2016, slaying of 21-year-old Otavious Brown and wounding of Dewon Campbell and Aundrey Roberts Jr.

On Friday the same jury found 22-year-old Shavondes Martin not guilty of the same charges but convicted 17-year-old Doncorrion Spates. The jurors told the judge Friday they were unable to agree on Rollins, so they were ordered to return Monday to resume deliberations.

Prosecutors said the three were in a vehicle when they opened fire on a group of people. The driver, Jacques Williamson, earlier pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.
