NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a flood in a Brooklyn apartment led to the gruesome discovery of two badly decomposing bodies.
Police say the call came in about 2 p.m. Friday. Fire officials discovered a leak in an apartment in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn was coming from the building next door. When emergency responders investigated the source of the leak they found the corpses of two women believed to be in their 70s. One was found in an apartment hallway and the other inside the bedroom.
Police say the bodies had been there for some time. It’s not clear how long. They were trying to determine the relationship between the women and their names. Police were investigating whether the deaths were suspicious or whether the women died from natural causes.
