Seattle Times reader Bob Venezia’s photo of a lighted ride at last month’s Washington State Fair.
Photographer: Bob Venezia, Seattle
Photo taken: Sept. 18, Washington State Fair, Puyallup
Photographer’s description: “Light painting of the new Evolution ride at the Washington State Fair. Taken with Olympus E-M5II using the Live Time function. My new favorite ride to photograph at the fair.”
Katie’s critique: “These types of photos where the shutter is left open to capture streaks of light are some of my favorite fair photos; they just define fun. This photo reminds me of being a kid and playing with my Spirograph, making colorful designs like this. This frame is well executed — tight enough to get those colors streaking through the frame but still having context of location. Nice use of the rule of thirds and great exposure.”
