Photographer: Lauren Ito, Mercer Island Photo taken: Oct. 31, Mercer Island Photographer’s description: “During this sunset I saw a perfect blackberry frame, and climbed into the prickly hedge to capture this shot. Well worth the prickles! Shot with a Canon 7D Mark II, Tamron 28-75mm lens.” Katie’s critique: “We get a lot of Mount Rainier submissions, and our photographers shoot a lot of photos of Mount Rainier. What I like about this shot is the framing — it isn’t just a straight shot of the mountain. The hedge cleans up the foreground by blocking the cityscape and the rogue vine creates the perfect window to peek through. Great layers and a beautiful sunset surrounding a gorgeous mountain.” Share your recent photo from around the Northwest. Submit online at .
