Seattle Times reader Lee Koshman’s photo of a June dragonfly.
Photographer: Lee Koshman, Bothell Photo taken: June 6, in a Bothell yard Photographer’s description: “I never realized that the black dragonflies sometimes have blue in their wings. I also find the intricacy of their wings astonishing. Picture taken with a Nikon D3100, set at 1/1250 sec., f/5.6, and ISO of 200.” Katie’s critique: “Great job getting in close so we can see this little guy — the shimmer and other details in the wings is fascinating. The lines in this photo are nice, with the purple background leading you right to the cool wings. Good depth of field so we aren’t distracted from the main subject.” Share your recent photo from around the Northwest. Submit online at seattletimes.com/submit-photos.
