Seattle Times reader Dale Anderson’s photo of the interior of a hot-air balloon.
Photographer: Dale Anderson, Mountlake Terrace Photo taken: June 30, Snohomish Photographer’s description: “Shot through the parachute vent of a hot-air balloon envelope, the pilot prepares the balloon for a ride over the Snohomish area. Shot with a Nikon D-810 camera and Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 lens. A great time was had by all.” Expert says: “I found the kaleidoscope-like effect of the hot-air balloon’s envelope hypnotizing. The pattern, combined with the balloon’s vibrant colors, also brought me to a place of whimsical fantasy. The silhouetted individual in the center of the frame provides a great sense of scale.” Share your recent photo from around the Northwest. July photo contest: Farmers marketsIt’s a time of bumper crops in Washington’s farmers markets. Turn your lenses loose on the booths bursting with berries, the buskers strumming their hearts out, or the hungry patrons lined up for quesadillas to make you drool. We’ll choose a favorite image and feature it in Reader’s Lens the final week of July (and award a Canon photo bag to the photographer). Submit by day’s end July 24 to seattletimes.com/submit-photos.
