Readers rave about scattering ashes from ferry, rant about people walking wrong way.
RAVE To the Washington State Ferry system for showing so much compassion for families who get permission to scatter ashes of loved ones from the ferry. The ferry slows, blowing its horn in tribute, and a certificate is provided with name of deceased and latitude and longitude marking the spot for future visits. The captain and mates were wonderful, and my family is so appreciative.
RANT To people who walk with the flow of traffic instead of against it when there are no sidewalks. It’s dangerous when you’re not aware of your surroundings, especially if you’re wearing earphones, and cars may be coming up behind you. Please walk against traffic so we can see each other!
