Readers rave about curb ramps, rant about trees cut down on Fifth Avenue.

RAVE To curb ramps on sidewalk corners so people in a wheelchair or using a cane or pushing a baby stroller can safely cross a busy street to the other side. On my busy street this isn’t so because we have no sidewalks, and if you manage to get to a crosswalk without getting hit by a car at least you don’t have to get up and down from the curb.

RANT To the high-rise construction project for cutting down beautiful trees on Fifth Avenue, and to the city for allowing it. I hope the cut trees will be replaced by many more when the construction is completed.
